Keeping the Calendar Full

Ask anyone who has lived in Franklin for a while and they'll tell you getting around here takes a car. Church, the hair salon, lunch with friends in Cool Springs, the pharmacy, the doctor's office on the other side of town. A full life here involves a lot of driving.

For many older adults, the car represents freedom. So when driving starts to feel like more effort, or night driving gets harder, the natural worry is that life will get smaller.

It can stay just as full. The key is having reliable rides that feel personal. A good ride shows up on time and waits patiently. It walks your parent to the door when that helps, and carries in the groceries afterward. Ideally, it's the same familiar face who knows their favorite coffee order and remembers the grandkids' names.

Families who plan for this early tend to have an easier time. Start by making a list of the places your parent goes in a typical month. You'll probably find the list is longer than you'd expect, and that's good news. It's a list worth protecting.

Transportation is one of the most requested services at Baker Concierge.

Every monthly support plan includes rides, from two a month with Touchstone up to ten a month with Capstone. We also offer one-way and round-trip rides as a stand-alone service for families who want to start there.
